Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum
Second wife of U.S. President Woodrow Wilson, Edith Bolling Galt Wilson was First Lady of the United States from 1915 to 1921. After her husband suffered a traumatic stroke in October 1919, Edith functionally ran the government's Executive branch for the rest of the president's second term. In doing so, she gained a reputation as "The Secret President" and "The First Woman President." The Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum pays homage to her stewardship with a variety of exhibits and historical artifacts that honor this fascinating female historical figure.
